In the Agriculture Building in New Delhi, Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan presided over the first comprehensive monthly review meeting, where extensive discussions were held on the ministry’s key programs and policies.

In New Delhi’s Agriculture Building, Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan chaired a comprehensive monthly review meeting, which the ministry has launched as the first phase of this year. The meeting was held with the aim of better coordinating the Ministry of Agriculture’s responsibilities and accelerating the policy decision‑making process. The minister said that such monthly reviews would facilitate the flow of information between departments and lay the groundwork for swift action.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestry and Rural Development, as well as representatives from central and state governments. The agenda included climate‑adaptation plans under the Paris Agreement, expansion of crop insurance schemes, and a review of the agricultural input supply chain. The minister specifically emphasized irrigation projects in drought‑prone areas and the expansion of digital platforms for farmers. During the meeting, data on the implementation of several key schemes were also analyzed, and targets for the upcoming quarter were set.

Under this initiative, the ministry has decided that a comprehensive review meeting will be held every month, so that policy decisions can be taken on time. Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “This platform will enable us to respond quickly to the challenges of the agricultural sector and implement policy reforms promptly.” The meeting is expected to improve farmer welfare schemes and bring agricultural productivity to new heights.
