Central Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Sindhia formally inaugurated the Third International India 6G Seminar 2026, held today at the Raj Bhavan in Delhi. The event focuses on research and development of 6G, aimed at propelling India to new heights on the global technology map. In his speech, the minister explained that India has devised a comprehensive national strategy for 6G research, which will promote close collaboration among universities, research institutions, and industry.

During the seminar, scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders from more than 30 countries gathered. The main topics of the program included the infrastructure required for 6G, energy efficiency, secure networking, and the latest protocols for real‑time data processing. The Indian government has allocated ₹10,000 crore for 6G technology this year, to be used for research and development and pilot projects. The minister said that India's goal is to make 6G networks commercially available by 2030, and that international partnership and technology transfer will be given special emphasis to achieve this objective.

Through this seminar, India reiterated its commitment to play an active role in shaping global 6G standards. Ministers, researchers, and industry representatives jointly decided to develop a roadmap that will help keep India at the forefront of 6G worldwide. With the successful organization of this event, India reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the future of digital communications.
