At the 52nd India Gems and Jewelry Awards held in Mumbai, Central Home and Co‑operation Minister Amit Shah delivered a speech highlighting industry development, job creation, and government support.

At the 52nd India Gems and Jewellery Awards ceremony held in Mumbai, Union Home and Co‑operation Minister Amit Shah attended as the chief guest and presented detailed thoughts on the progress and challenges of the Indian jewellery industry. In his address, the minister said that the jewellery industry is not only an integral part of India’s cultural heritage but also makes a significant contribution to job creation and exports. He mentioned various government initiatives, such as technical assistance to artisans, financial incentives, and special policies to promote exports under ‘Make in India’. He also highlighted steps taken to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through a cooperative model, which will increase transparency and competition in the industry.

Several leading gems and jewellery brands were honoured at the ceremony for their innovation, design excellence, and social responsibility. On this occasion, industry representatives expressed hope for the effective implementation of government policies and called for cooperation to boost exports, stabilise the raw‑material supply chain, and develop artisans’ skills. The minister assured that these demands would be heard and that an inclusive approach would be adopted in policy reforms. Thus, the 52nd India Gems and Jewellery Awards not only recognised excellence but also strengthened industry‑government dialogue, giving new direction to the future of the Indian jewellery sector.
