Central Minister Jyotiraditya M. Sindhia laid a new cornerstone by inaugurating development projects worth ₹331 crore in Saingpung, Mizoram, which include significant improvements in roads, energy, water, and digital connectivity.

Central Minister Jyotiraditya M. Sindhia today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹331 crore in Sangpung, Mizoram, giving new direction to the state’s infrastructure. This program comes under the central government’s “Comprehensive Development in Mizoram” policy, whose aim is to overcome the state’s geographical challenges and promote economic inclusion and social welfare. The projects mainly include a new national highway of 60 kilometres, a 10‑megawatt solar power plant, a water‑conservation project of 5 lakh square metres, and a rural‑connectivity initiative with 20 digital classrooms.

Ministers said these projects are not only important for creating employment but will also encourage regional industries. Specifically, the solar power plant will help achieve the state’s green‑energy targets, while the water‑conservation project is expected to increase agricultural productivity by more than 15 %. Providing educational resources to rural students through digital classrooms has taken an important step toward equity in education.

Mizoram’s Chief Minister also said on this occasion that these projects will inject new energy into the state’s socio‑economic development and lay the groundwork for regional prosperity. This collaboration between the central and state governments will further integrate Mizoram into national development programmes, thereby promoting regional balance and inclusive development.
