The Ministry of Women and Child Development chaired this year’s major summit, presided over by Central Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Annapurna Devi, where discussions were held on policy formulation, program evaluation, and future plans.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development organized this year’s flagship departmental summit, chaired by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Annapurna Devi. This two‑day event brought together the ministry’s senior policy makers, programme managers, state‑level officials and representatives of NGOs on a single platform, where they assessed the impact of ongoing programmes to enhance the welfare of women and children and reached consensus on future strategies.

During the summit, the minister highlighted economic empowerment of women, improvements in education and health services, and new initiatives in child protection and development. She especially emphasized the expansion of digital inclusion, skill development and incentive schemes for child welfare. Through workshops, panel discussions and experience‑sharing sessions, various stakeholders presented their challenges and successes. The minister said that the summit’s purpose is to bridge the gap between policy and implementation and to strengthen coordination at all levels, so that more inclusive and sustainable development for women and children can be ensured.

At the end, the minister decided to prepare an action plan based on the summit’s conclusions, which will detail priority programmes and financial allocations for the next year. This step is expected to accelerate the implementation of programmes that enhance the rights and welfare of women and children, leading to significant progress in achieving gender equality and child development goals in society.
