Central Minister Prataprav Jadhav appealed for a Sun Ray Air exhibition to be held in Lonavala, a premier tourist destination in Maharashtra, aiming to promote renewable energy and boost tourist numbers.

Central Minister Prataprav Jadhav today called for the organization of the Sunray Air Exhibition in Lonavala, a famous tourist centre of Maharashtra. The aim of this initiative is to increase awareness of renewable energy while creating a new tourism experience together with the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. The minister said that this exhibition will give tourists a direct experience of solar energy and deepen their understanding of India’s clean energy programmes.

The Maharashtra government has recently made efforts to link tourism and green energy under several schemes. Lonavala, known for its verdant landscape, waterfalls and historic sites, has been considered a suitable venue for this exhibition. The minister said that such an exhibition could increase the number of tourists to the region by 15-20 % and also boost local industries and employment opportunities.

Under this programme, experimental displays of solar panels, wind turbines and energy‑efficient equipment, along with interactive workshops and educational sessions, are planned. With the cooperation of the central government’s Department of Energy and the Ministry of Tourism, this project will present a new example of establishing a balance between environmental sustainability and economic development. The minister urged local authorities to cooperate in providing the necessary infrastructure and publicity to make this initiative successful.
