In a recent warning, Traffic Inspector ACP Srinivas stated that driving after consuming alcohol is not only a violation of the law but also poses a serious threat to road safety.
Throughout the year, the number of alcohol‑related incidents in road accidents has been steadily increasing. In this context, Traffic Inspector ACP Srinivas issued a public statement, urging all citizens to never drive after consuming alcohol. ACP stated that the local traffic department has begun stringent action against driving after alcohol consumption and plans to impose harsh penalties on drivers who violate the rules.
ACP Srinivas noted that recently, the number of victims in several accidents has increased due to alcohol consumption. He emphasized that driving under the influence severely impairs decision‑making ability and reaction time, creating unnecessary risks on the road. Moreover, he said the traffic department has adopted strict preventive measures for drivers who drive after drinking, such as random drug testing, license suspension, and fines.
To raise awareness about road safety, ACP advised citizens to use public transport or ride‑hailing services after drinking. He also said that the traffic department will soon launch a special campaign featuring educational programs and highlighting road accident statistics. ACP Srinivas believes that if all citizens understand the dangers of driving after alcohol consumption and comply with the rules, road accidents will see a significant reduction.
