In India's two major Telugu-speaking states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, gold rates have become uniform today, providing both consumers and traders with a sense of stability.
In the major cities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, gold prices today have settled at almost the same level per gram. In the past few weeks, fluctuations in the international market, along with new policies of the Indian Real‑Time Grading System (RTGS), have reduced the price difference between the two states. The integrated pricing model implemented by national banks and major jewellery chains has eliminated local tax variations, helping to apply a single rate across all major urban and rural areas. This integration became especially evident after the full implementation of GST, so that differences in state‑level sales tax no longer exist.
This uniform gold rate has made purchasing easier for consumers, as customers no longer need to compare two separate prices. Representatives of the jewellery industry say that this stability has positively impacted seasonal demand, especially during wedding and festive seasons. Moreover, small traders have reported that the uniform prices have increased transparency in inventory management and pricing, reducing pressure on profit margins. However, gold prices in the global market continue to fluctuate, leaving the possibility of price differences re‑emerging in the future.
Financial experts have regarded this development as a positive sign, because uniform prices promote competition in the market and strengthen consumer confidence. They have advised prospective buyers to take advantage of the current stability, purchasing gold from duly certified and reputable sellers.
