In Bastar, the inauguration of the 9th National Review Workshop, deliberation on a work plan to transform the resolution “Prosperity through Cooperation” into effective results at the grassroots level.

The 9th National Review Workshop was inaugurated at a major cooperative centre in Basti, with participation from state government officials, leaders of cooperative federations, local entrepreneurs, and social workers. The workshop’s primary objective was to devise a viable action plan to implement the “Prosperity through Cooperation” pledge at the grassroots level. Participants discussed past experiences in regional cooperative development and highlighted current challenges such as difficulties in resource mobilization, lack of marketing channels, and insufficient technical assistance.

To strengthen the cooperative movement, the workshop brainstormed several initiatives. A key proposal was to connect rural cooperative societies to digital platforms, automating production, marketing, and financial management. Additionally, a plan was outlined to empower cooperative members through local training centres, covering entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial literacy. Under the action plan, each cooperative will appoint a “Cooperative Development Officer” responsible for regional inspections, guidance, and progress reporting.

Following the workshop, the state government announced the formation of a coordination committee for cooperative development, which will oversee the implementation of the action plan and conduct periodic reviews. This initiative is seen as a significant step toward realizing the “Prosperity through Cooperation” pledge, advancing rural prosperity, job creation, and sustainable development.
