Tracking has been completed on the Tadoki‑Ravgat section of the Dalli Rajhara‑Ravgat rail project, which will connect the hilly and tribal settlements of South Chhattisgarh to the national rail network and open a new path for regional economic development.

Indian Railways Completes Tracking Work on Tadoki‑Raavgat Section of New Dalirajhara‑Raavgat Railway Line, Connecting Remote and Hill Areas of South Chhattisgarh

Indian Railways has finished the tracking work on the Tadoki‑Raavgat section of the new Dalirajhara‑Raavgat railway line, thereby linking the remote and hilly areas of southern Chhattisgarh to the rail network. This section is a crucial part of the 45‑km long project, which has successfully overcome technical challenges such as difficult geophysics, dense forests, and bridge construction across several rivers. With the completion of this phase, River Bench, Raavgat, Tadoki, and many surrounding small villages will receive direct rail connectivity, bringing a historic change in the connectivity of these areas.

The project was initially approved in 2019 and is being carried out with the aim of strengthening national-level development of mining, agriculture, and tourism. Fast and cost‑effective rail routes will now be available for rafting and transport of goods extracted from iron ore mines located in the Dalirajhara region, thereby boosting industrial production. Additionally, this railway line will facilitate local farmers in bringing their produce to market, improving income and encouraging rural entrepreneurship.

Railway officials said that the tracking work for the Raavgat‑Korba and Korba‑Jagdalpur sections will be completed promptly in the next phase, enabling the operation of the entire line soon. This development will not only accelerate regional economic growth but also improve the socio‑economic status of tribal communities, as better transport facilities will make access to health, education, and government services easier. The state government has also praised this initiative of Indian Railways and regarded it as a significant milestone in the expansion of national infrastructure.
