The Ayurvedic Training and Research Institute (ITRA) located in Jamsar highlighted its major achievements in Ayurvedic education, scientific research, and public health services during the ceremony organized on the occasion of its sixth foundation day.

Jam Nagar’s Ayurvedic Training and Research Institute (ITRA) celebrated its sixth foundation day “ITRA Day” with great enthusiasm this year. The ceremony was attended by the institute’s director, leading scholars, researchers, as well as representatives of the state health department and local community. In the inaugural speech, the head of the institute said that in the six years since its establishment, ITRA has successfully fulfilled its objectives of integrating Ayurvedic education into a modern academic framework, translating research into practical applications, and providing Ayurvedic solutions for public health.

In recent years ITRA has made notable progress in the development of bio‑pharmaceuticals, herb‑based vaccines, and immuno‑enhancing nutritional products. The institute’s research department has successfully completed several nationally recognized projects, including extensive clinical trials on Ayurvedic treatments for diabetes, arthritis, and respiratory diseases. In addition, ITRA organized Ayurvedic health camps in rural areas, where free consultations, diagnostic examinations, and treatments were provided, resulting in a marked improvement in the health status of the local population.

ITRA has also taken impressive steps on the academic front. The institute launched nationally accredited diploma and postgraduate programmes that combine traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern science, technology, and ethical standards. On the occasion of this year’s “ITRA Day”, the institute announced joint research programmes and scholarship schemes with international partner universities for the upcoming academic session, which will strengthen India’s position on the global stage of Ayurveda. Highlighting these achievements, ITRA reaffirmed its goal of establishing Ayurveda on a scientific basis and enhancing its utility in public health.
