The Ministry of Defence and the Indian Armed Forces successfully concluded the Core 2026 program held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, which featured extensive discussions on joint operational readiness, integration of new technologies, and future strategic direction.

The joint operational review and assessment (Core) programme 2026, held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, was an annual forum aimed at strengthening coordination among India's defence establishments. The event brought together senior commanders of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and experts on strategic affairs. Over two days, participants analysed current operational conditions, evaluated new military technologies and discussed in detail the planning of joint operations. Particular emphasis was placed on cyber‑security, artificial‑intelligence‑based warfare systems and the integration of multi‑domain operations as key agenda items.

During the programme several key reports were presented, including recommendations to expand the digital Command and Control (C2) network to enhance the armed forces’ rapid response capability, and to ensure the regularity of joint training modules. In addition, clear directives were issued to adopt a public‑private partnership model to accelerate the indigenisation of Indian defence production. Participants also agreed that future strategic cooperation through international partnerships will be essential, benefiting both India’s strategic autonomy and regional stability.

At the conclusion of Core 2026, the Defence Secretary reiterated the commitment to implement the action plan developed as a result of the programme, stating that improving the efficiency of joint operations will set a new direction for national security. The event restored cohesion among the Indian Armed Forces and laid a solid foundation for the development of a more effective and comprehensive defence strategy in the years to come.
