Secretary Sudhansh Pant of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will administer the oath to the members of the new governing body of the Delhi Water Infrastructure Development National Committee (DWBDNC) tomorrow, which will accelerate actions in the areas of water management and social equality.

Social Justice and Governance Ministry Secretary Shri Sudhanshu Pant announced today that he will have the newly appointed members of the Delhi Water–Infrastructure Development National Committee (DWBDNC) take the oath tomorrow. The purpose of the ceremony is to give official recognition to the new appointees and to rapidly implement the government's new policies in water resource management and social equity. DWBDNC, the principal regulatory body for Delhi's water supply, water conservation, and infrastructure development, has been involved in several major projects last year, such as expanding the water recycling plant and modernizing water purification systems.

Pant said that the oath‑taking ceremony is not just an administrative formality but an important step in incorporating the principles of social justice into water services. He also noted that the new governing body includes representatives from diverse backgrounds, including experts in environmental science, public health, community development, and financial management. This diversity promotes inclusiveness in policy‑making and will help eliminate disparities in access to water services.

In light of several public concerns over water crisis and water quality in recent months, the government has launched several initiatives to improve water policy. These initiatives include increasing transparency in water distribution, strengthening the consumer complaint redressal system, and encouraging community participation in water conservation. The formation of the new governing body is expected to expedite the implementation of these initiatives, thereby providing Delhi's citizens with better, cheaper, and sustainable water services.
