The Prime Minister of India expressed profound sorrow over the sudden demise of the eminent social worker and Rajmata Vijaykunwarba of Morbi city, Gujarat, and conveyed his condolences to her family and followers.

India's Prime Minister expressed deep grief on the demise of Morbi's esteemed social leader and matriarch Vijaykunwarba. He said that Vijaykunwarba had made innumerable contributions in the fields of education, health and women's empowerment during her lifetime, which not only propelled social change in Morbi but throughout Gujarat. The Prime Minister also noted that her work ethic has been a symbol of dedication, empathy and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, and her absence is a great loss to society.

Matriarch Vijaykunwarba is regarded as a prominent figure in Morbi's history. In the 1990s she established several schools and health centres to meet the basic needs of the local population. She also initiated skill‑training centres for women and self‑help groups, which improved the economic condition of many families. Several of her social initiatives were recognized by the state government and she was honoured with numerous national and state‑level awards.

Members of the legislative assembly, local leaders and citizens also joined the Prime Minister in expressing their condolences over this tragic event. Many people paid tribute on social media, recalling her contributions, and expressed hope that her social work will continue. The Prime Minister also said that the government will provide all necessary assistance to advance development projects in Morbi, so that Matriarch Vijaykunwarba's legacy remains alive and the institutions she founded continue to bring positive change to society.
