Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by attending the Vijayadashami ceremony held in the national capital, emphasized the importance of India's cultural heritage and social unity, and called on the youth to become aware of national unity and moral values.

At the national Dussehra ceremony held this year on Rajpath in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated, highlighting the importance of celebrating this ancient Indian festival at the national level. The program began with the Prime Minister hoisting the national flag, after which major religious and cultural groups presented the story of Dussehra through Ramleela, dance, music, and traditional plays. On this occasion, various state governments and cultural organizations showcased their respective regional traditions, making the message of unity in diversity clear.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister said in his address that Dussehra is not only a symbol of the triumph of good over evil, but also a symbol of social harmony, moral values, and national unity. He specifically called upon the youth to make active contributions in education, skill development, and nation‑building, stating, “Our future lies in the hands of those young people who will steer the country toward progress through their actions.” Additionally, he mentioned the government schemes underway for women’s empowerment and rural development, and said that through these initiatives every Indian should receive equal opportunities.

At the close of the ceremony, the Prime Minister wished all the citizens present and said that preserving India’s cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations is our collective duty. Thus, this national platform for Dussehra not only highlighted the religious celebration but also reinforced national unity, social progress, and cultural diversity.
