The Prime Minister recently shared a Sanskrit proverb, highlighting the importance of measured speech, mind, austerity, self‑sacrifice, and integrity. This speech increased awareness of cultural values and moral education across the country.

The Prime Minister, while delivering a speech at a national cultural event today, cited an ancient Sanskrit proverb that highlighted disciplined speech, purity of mind, austerity, and self‑sacrifice as key virtues alongside integrity. The proverb, which he translated into his own language and presented, reminded the audience that true strength and societal prosperity require adherence to inner discipline and moral values. This message from the Prime Minister was particularly inspiring for young people, as they often struggle to strike a balance between the fast‑paced speech and conduct of the digital age.

During the speech, the Prime Minister explained that Sanskrit, as India's cultural heritage, not only imparts historical knowledge but also serves as a unique medium for moral education. He emphasized that disciplined speech maintains peace in society, while purity of mind and austerity enhance an individual's inner strength. He regards self‑sacrifice and integrity as pillars of societal development, and clarifies that only by adhering to these virtues can the country achieve overall progress. In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned several education and social reform programmes being run by the government, aimed at instilling these values in young people.

Representatives of all major political parties and social organisations praised the speech, stating that it is a positive step that will refocus Indian society on moral values. The Minister of Education, acknowledging the Prime Minister's message, said that curricula on Sanskrit and moral education in schools and colleges will be further strengthened. Thus, the Prime Minister's sharing of this proverb has injected new energy into the country's cultural and moral consciousness.
