The Prime Minister, citing an ancient Sanskrit proverb, highlighted the virtues of restrained speech, mind, austerity, self‑sacrifice and integrity, thereby urging citizens to reaffirm moral values.

Prime Minister recently quoted an ancient Sanskrit proverb at a public event, stating that “Integrity, measured speech, and austerity are indispensable for the purity of the mind.” Through this proverb, he conveyed that in today’s digital age, characterized by rapid responses and immediacy, adopting the virtues of measured speech and self‑sacrifice is essential. He explained that integrity is not only the foundation of personal conduct but also strengthens trust and harmony within society.

During the speech, the Prime Minister noted that Sanskrit literature contains many proverbs that succinctly present the fundamental principles of life. He further clarified that measured speech facilitates the resolution of disputes and maintains inner peace. Moreover, he regards the practice of austerity and self‑sacrifice as vital for the nation’s prosperity and unity, as it transcends personal selfishness and moves toward collective welfare. Thus, the Prime Minister’s message encouraged citizens to embrace the qualities of restraint, integrity, austerity, and self‑sacrifice in their language and behavior to bring about positive change in society.
