The official launch of the “Catch the Rain” anthem was carried out to raise awareness about water conservation, with government officials, environmental experts, and ordinary citizens participating to highlight the importance of water harvesting through music.

Under the National Water Conservation Campaign, the Ministry of Water Resources and Climate Change launched the anthem “Water Harvesting Public Participation – Catch the Rain.” This anthem was prepared with the cooperation of the country’s leading musicians and young artists, and its main objective is to popularize water harvesting, rainwater collection, and community participation. The launch ceremony was attended by senior officials of the central government, representatives of various state water boards, environmental NGOs, and school‑college students. They said that conveying the water‑conservation message through music can be more effective in reaching a broad public, especially in both rural and urban areas where the sense of water crisis is acute.

The lyrics of the anthem present the importance of water, technical methods of capturing rainwater, and the need for community cooperation in simple and inspiring language. The song will be made available on various digital platforms, and special versions prepared for performances in schools and public gatherings will also be distributed. Experts believe that such cultural initiatives can encourage active citizen participation in water conservation, giving a new direction to social cooperation in solving the water‑crisis.

After the launch, several state governments announced that they would incorporate the anthem into their water‑harvesting programmes and link it with educational workshops and community activities for local promotion. The initiative has received positive response at the national level, and it is expected that the “Catch the Rain” anthem will embed the water‑conservation message deeply in the public mind, thereby taking a solid step towards sustainable water management.
