Senior officials of India’s Coast Guard (ICF) and Korea Coast Guard (KRC) in Incheon, South Korea, agreed on maritime security, crime prevention, and joint training programs during the 14th high‑level meeting.

In the 14th high‑level meeting held at the Incheon Maritime Defense Complex, the chief of the Indian Coast Guard and the secretary‑general of the Korean Coast Guard discussed a deep partnership in maritime security and crime prevention. Both sides agreed to launch joint operations against the rising maritime crime in the strait, drug smuggling and illegal fishing. During the meeting, the two coast guard forces also deliberated on expanding joint drills, information exchange and emergency response plans.

Prior to this meeting, the two countries had held 9‑time high‑level dialogues aimed at promoting regional maritime peace and stability. The meeting in Incheon is regarded as a significant step to ensure the security of the Southeast Asian strait. Both sides also acknowledged that amid increasing global maritime transport risks, cooperative efforts can reduce those risks. After the meeting, the two coast guard forces decided to prepare an action plan to accelerate joint training programmes and increase mutual technical assistance.
