The Defence Minister outlined the government's objective under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership that India should become a nation dedicated to prosperity, knowledge, power, as well as global peace and the welfare of humanity.

In a recent statement, the Defence Minister clarified the vision of the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to make India a nation that is committed to economic prosperity, scientific knowledge, and military strength, as well as to global peace and the welfare of humanity. The minister explained that defence and foreign policy are being pursued from an integrated perspective to ensure India’s security while actively playing a role in peacebuilding on the international stage.

In this context, the Ministry of Defence has accelerated efforts to develop new capabilities and acquire modern equipment, while also promoting India’s participation in peace missions and humanitarian assistance programmes. The minister specifically noted that India’s defence industry is being strengthened through indigenisation, which will not only bolster national security but also enhance India’s reputation in the global defence market. At the same time, India’s foreign policy places a premium on peace negotiations, regional stability, and commitment to human rights.

Finally, the Defence Minister assured that this comprehensive approach will enable India to become a prosperous, knowledge-rich, and powerful nation that faithfully fulfills its responsibilities towards world peace and the welfare of humanity. This statement highlights efforts to harmonise India’s foreign policy and defence strategy, further strengthening the country’s international reputation.
