The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow at the passing of social worker and leading voice for tribal rights, Soren Ji, recalling his contributions and urging the nation to advance his ideals.

The Prime Minister today expressed condolences at the national level on the death of Rupi Soren, who has been widely revered as a prominent leader of the Indian tribal movement and a social worker. Over the past several decades, Soren made tireless efforts to protect the rights of rural and tribal communities, with particularly notable contributions to land security, education and the expansion of health facilities. He highlighted his communities' problems on numerous national platforms and demanded robust policies from the government, a role that was commendable in several major legislative reforms.

His death has brought deep sorrow not only to his family and followers but also to social workers and policymakers across the country. The Prime Minister said that Rupi Soren's life was a symbol of service, dedication and unwavering commitment to justice, and that his work will remain an inspiration for future generations. He urged all governmental and non‑governmental institutions to continue advancing the issues raised by Soren, especially by taking concrete steps to ensure sustainable development and social justice in tribal areas.

In remembering Rupi Soren's achievements, several state and central institutions have planned commemorative events and educational initiatives to honor his contributions. Even after his death, his ideas and ethos will survive through the organizations and networks he established, continuing as a vital pillar on the path of India's social development.
