The Union Public Service Commission has released the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2026, and published the list of selected candidates, indicating the number of eligible candidates for various services in the armed forces.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the final result of Combined Defense Services Examination (I), 2026. Through this examination, candidates are selected for officer posts in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The result has been made available on the online portal, where candidates can check the individual result through their roll number. This time a total of more than two lakh candidates participated in the examination, while the number of selected candidates remained around seven thousand, due to which this year's selection rate decreased slightly as compared to previous years.

Along with the declaration of results, the Commission has also published the cutoff marks, which were determined separately for different services. The cutoff for the Indian Army was the highest, while in the Navy and Air Force relatively lower marks were considered sufficient. Candidates will have to go through various stages like medical examination, interview and servicing test in the further process. The Commission informed that all the selected candidates will be admitted to the training institutes as per the scheduled dates in the coming months.

UPSC stressed on transparency and timeliness regarding the result, saying that all the processes have been conducted fairly and accurately. Additionally, preliminary preparations are also underway for next year's Combined Defense Services Examination (II), in which candidates will have to face a more competitive environment than before. Candidates have been advised to submit the required documents and medical reports on time by following the official instructions, so that there is no hindrance in the selection process.
