Air Marshal Ashutosh Dikshit, the new Chief of the Indian Air Force, has taken office as the 29th Chief of the Air Force, and he has presented “air” as a guiding vision for the Air Force’s future.

As Air Chief Marshal Ashutosh Dikshit assumes the role of the 29th Chief of the Indian Air Force, he has pledged to redefine the strategic direction of the Air Force. Dikshit, who brings over 30 years of experience and participation in numerous international missions, established “air” as a central principle at the outset of his tenure, aiming to apply it to all Air Force operations, training, and technological upgrades.

Under this new leadership, Dikshit has set three key priorities: first, enhancing operational capability through advanced technology and automation; second, strengthening collaboration with regional and global partners to expand joint training and information‑sharing programs; and third, placing special emphasis on leadership and skill development for young officers and personnel. He explained that the “air” perspective will not only encourage technological innovation but also craft a holistic strategy that links the Air Force’s mission with service to society and dedication to national security.

With this appointment, the Air Force is expected to enter a new era where digital warfare, cyber security, and space capabilities will be prioritized. Dikshit's leadership style, based on inclusive decision‑making and transparent communication, is hoped to make the Air Force’s mission more effective and contemporary, thereby achieving an overall improvement in the country’s defence capabilities.
