The Delhi High Court has recently appointed an additional judge to strengthen its judicial framework, with the expectation of speeding up the disposal of pending cases.

Delhi High Court has expanded its judicial team by appointing an additional judge. The move aims to balance the increased judicial workload and reduce the time taken to dispose of pending cases. The appointment was announced by the court’s chief, who said the decision is essential to make the justice system timely and effective.

In recent years, the number of cases before the Delhi High Court has risen steadily, causing delays in the disposal of many cases. According to the court’s statistics, the backlog of pending cases exceeds 25,000. Appointing additional judges is seen as a crucial step to improve this situation. With the new appointment, the court expects the pace of disposing of cases to increase by about 10,000 per year.

The court’s executive secretary described the appointment as a symbol of the judiciary’s commitment to transparency and efficiency. He added that the move will not only improve judicial access for both plaintiffs and defendants but also strengthen confidence in the judicial process. This initiative shows that the Delhi government and the judiciary are actively working together to make the justice system more accessible and timely.
