Central Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Radhakrishna Khadse, participated as a distinguished guest at the inauguration of the Chhattisgarh Hockey League.

In the opening ceremony of the hockey league held in a major city of Chhattisgarh, Central Youth Programme and Sports Minister Radhika Khadse was invited as a distinguished guest. At the start of the event, Khadse delivered an impassioned address, emphasizing that hockey is one of India’s premier team sports and highlighting the government’s commitment to developing the sport in the state. She stated that the league will not only provide a competitive platform for young players but also raise awareness of the sport and spark interest in hockey at the local level.

The state government described this initiative as a major step toward strengthening hockey at the grassroots level. It explained that through the new league, regional clubs and educational institutions will be integrated, offering players improved training facilities and opportunities to compete at the national level. The Sports Ministry also noted that the league aligns with several schemes under the National Youth Programme, which aim to increase youth interest in sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle. Thus, the inauguration of the Chhattisgarh Hockey League is seen not merely as a sporting event but as a vital component of the state’s broader sports development agenda.
