Chief Comptroller of Communication Accounts launches program for life certification camps for telecom pensioners in the National Capital Region.

The Principal Controller of Communication Accounts has launched a life certificate camp program for telecom pensioners in the National Capital Region (NCR), aimed at simplifying and expediting the process of submitting their life certificates. The main objective of this initiative is to relieve pensioners from the burden of traveling to remote areas and to ensure timeliness in pension disbursement. Under the program, mobile camps will be set up in several major cities, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad, where pensioners can appear with their identity documents and pension cards to obtain an instant life certificate.

In previous years, pensioners had to travel to distant government offices to submit their life certificates, often encountering delays and inconvenience. Through this new arrangement, the Communication Department has adopted digital verification technology, biometric scanning and real‑time data entry, which will enhance transparency in the verification process and minimize the possibility of errors. The Principal Controller of Communication Accounts said that this initiative aligns with national pension policies and could be expanded to other regions in the future.

The program is being regarded as a crucial step to ensure that all pensioners receive their pensions on time by the end of the financial year. Pensioners have praised the initiative, noting that they are now free from long queues and travel expenses and can readily exercise their rights. Moreover, the program is expected to bring notable improvements in data accuracy and administrative efficiency within the pension distribution system.
