High-level meeting to review preparations for Kashi Tamil Sangam 5.0 at Banaras Hindu University

Banaras Hindu University organized a high‑level meeting in Varanasi, where a comprehensive review of the preparations for Kashi Tamil Sangam 5.0 was conducted. The meeting was chaired by the university’s vice‑chancellor and included heads of various BHU faculties, representatives of the state government, officials from the Tamil Nadu Cultural Department, and representatives from several prominent academic and cultural institutions. Following the successful execution of the previous four editions, the meeting discussed the objectives, timetable, and financial resources for this year’s program. Key points included detailed programmes for cultural platforms, academic seminars, language workshops, and community engagement, underscoring a commitment to taking concrete steps to strengthen cultural dialogue between the two regions.

At the meeting, the main organising committee of Kashi Tamil Sangam 5.0 presented a report on the preparations to date, covering venue selection, participant list, publicity plan, and security protocols. On the financial front, grants from central and state governments were secured along with participation from private sponsors, ensuring sufficient allocation of the required budget for the event. Additionally, a plan to develop live streaming and interactive applications via a digital platform to engage remote audiences received approval. This initiative was viewed as an important step to promote cultural diversity at the national level and to strengthen academic collaboration between Northeast India and South India.

At the end of the meeting, all parties reiterated their commitment to coordinated action to ensure the success of Kashi Tamil Sangam 5.0.
