In the two‑day labor dialogue held in Lucknow, government officials, industry representatives, and labor unions conducted detailed consultations on issues related to the Labor Code, labor welfare, and social security, thereby strengthening broad participation in policy‑making.

State government organizes a two‑day “Labour Dialogue” program in Lucknow, covering key aspects of the Labour Code, labour welfare and social security.

The state government organized a two‑day “Labour Dialogue” program in Lucknow, where comprehensive discussions were held on key aspects of the Labour Code, labour welfare and social security. The forum included the head of the state labour department, representatives from the industry chamber, leaders of trade unions and social workers. The purpose of the program was to establish dialogue among various stakeholders to understand the challenges in implementing labour laws and to prepare collective guidelines for solutions.

On the first day, a detailed presentation was given on the progress of implementing the Labour Code and its impacts. Experts explained that the Code has strengthened safety standards in the workplace, but small and medium enterprises are facing difficulties in compliance. In this context, the state announced special assistance schemes, including technical assistance, training programmes and financial incentives.

On the second day, the focus was on expanding social security, where plans to broaden pensions, health insurance and unemployment benefits were discussed. Trade unions demanded stronger protective coverage for workers, while industry representatives emphasised the need to maintain business flexibility.

In the closing session, all parties agreed that an annual “Labour Dialogue” would be held in the future to ensure continuous participation in the policy‑making process. The state government considered this initiative a significant step for workers’ welfare and job creation, and said that the conclusions of the dialogue would soon be reflected in legislation. This programme not only provides a platform to resolve labour‑related issues but also represents a concrete step towards social harmony and economic stability.
