Union Panchayati Raj State Minister Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel chaired the meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Panchayati Raj Ministry, where several key aspects related to the promotion and implementation of Hindi in rural governance were discussed.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj chaired a meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee today, presided over by State Minister for Panchayati Raj, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel. The forum included senior ministry officials, state‑level Panchayati Raj experts, and representatives from various social organizations. The committee reviewed existing policies to strengthen the use of Hindi in rural administration and proposed new strategies. In particular, it emphasized the need to establish Hindi as the primary language for documentation, training materials, and public information systems in panchayats.

The meeting also noted that efforts to promote Hindi in local governance over recent years have yielded positive results, yet challenges remain in language adaptation across many regions. The committee suggested that state governments organize regular Hindi training programs for Panchayati institution staff and expand Hindi‑based services on digital platforms. Additionally, it recommended preparing locally mixed language‑Hindi communication materials for information dissemination at the village level.

Based on the committee’s findings, the ministry directed the preparation of an executive plan for the next phase, which will coordinate with various state governments to expand a Hindi‑centric governance model. This initiative aims to strengthen rural public relations, increase transparency in governmental processes, and reinforce Hindi’s role as the national language.
