Opening of the 29th Energy Technology Conference in Goa, Emphasis on Innovation and Energy Security

The official inauguration of the 29th Energy Technology Conference was held this morning in Goa, attended by major stakeholders, researchers and government officials from the energy sector. The main theme of the event was “Energy Security through Innovation,” highlighted in the inaugural speech by the head of the Energy Policy and Planning Division of the Ministry of Power. He stated that India must continuously invest in renewable sources, energy efficiency and smart grid technologies to ensure energy security.

During the conference, numerous panel discussions and workshops were organized, highlighting innovative technologies to increase the utilization of clean energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro and biomass. In a special session, emerging energy storage technologies—such as flow batteries and hydrogen storage—were discussed, which can improve grid stability and reliability. Additionally, proposals to enhance energy efficiency through smart buildings, optimization of industrial processes, and expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles were also examined.

Through this conference, the aim is to strengthen dialogue between policymakers and industry while forging new avenues of collaboration with research institutions. The Ministry of Power described the event as a significant step toward achieving India’s energy security goals, and expressed hope that the innovations and strategies shared on this platform will accelerate sustainable development in the energy sector in the coming years.
