Prime Minister congratulated Karmajyooti on winning a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games.

New Delhi – The Prime Minister officially congratulated Indian athlete Karamjyoti, who won a bronze medal in her category at the Asian Para Games. The Prime Minister, together with the head of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, sent a personal congratulatory message to Karamjyoti, stating that her performance is not only an inspiration for overcoming personal difficulties but also evidence of the success of India’s inclusive sports policy. Karamjyoti recorded a spectacular race in the 100 metre dash to secure the bronze medal, bringing the Indian para‑sports team’s total at this year’s Asian Para Games to 15 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze).

On the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening basic facilities and training infrastructure for differently‑abled athletes in India. He noted that the government has recently introduced new schemes for specially designed accommodation, high‑level coaching, and promotion of participation in international competitions for disabled sports, and that this success is a direct outcome of those policies. Karamjyoti’s coach also praised the Prime Minister’s support, saying that such recognition boosts athletes’ confidence and generates hope for even higher‑level achievements in the future.

Considering the overall performance of the Indian team at the Asian Para Games, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has pledged to accelerate preparations for upcoming international competitions, especially the Paralinks and the Paralympic Games. Karamjyoti’s bronze medal is regarded at the national level as an inspiring example that conveys a message of struggle and determination not only to the disabled community but to all Indian youth.
