In a major track event at the Asian Para Games, Indian athlete Pranav Desai won a bronze medal, elevating the nation's standing. Following this achievement, the Prime Minister personally congratulated Desai at a brief ceremony held at the office of the Ministry of Sports. The Prime Minister said, “Pranav’s success makes it clear that with proper support and training, disabled athletes can perform excellently on the international stage.” He urged the sports ministry to provide more basic facilities and expert coaching in the future, so that the competitiveness of Indian para athletes can increase further.

Pranav Desai, who competes in classification T12 due to physical impairment, has paved the way to this level through years of rigorous training and participation in international competitions. India has won several bronze and several gold medals in this edition, indicating that the country’s para sports policy is continuously improving.

Along with the Prime Minister’s congratulations, the sports ministry outlined a comprehensive plan for upcoming international competitions, including modernization of training centers, expansion of medical support, and scholarships for young disabled players. Given the steps taken in this direction, experts believe that India will be in a position to win more medals at the Asian Para Games and Paralympics in the near future. This achievement is not only a symbol of personal success but also a source of inspiration for the development of disabled sports at the national level.
