Prime Minister Congratulates Flag Bearer Ram Ratan Singh on Winning Silver Medal at Asian Para Games for Outstanding Performance

Prime Minister said that this achievement is not only the result of personal hard work but also reflects India’s commitment to inclusive sports development. He said the government is launching several new initiatives to strengthen infrastructure, training facilities, and financial assistance specifically for disabled athletes, thereby continuously improving the competitiveness of Indian para athletes on the international stage.

Ram Ratan Singh delivered a remarkable performance in his category during the Asian Para Games, where he secured a silver medal amid tough competition. This achievement makes a significant contribution to India’s overall medal tally and becomes a milestone in the development of para sports in the country. Experts believe that such successes inspire young disabled players and raise awareness of para sports at the national level. The government had earlier established special coaching centres for para sports under the “Swasth Bharat, Saksham Bharat” scheme, and this time these centres also provided high‑level training to participants.

Looking to the future, the Prime Minister said that India hopes for more medals in upcoming international competitions and directed all relevant ministries to coordinate efforts. He also said that the national sports policy will prioritize increased incentives for disabled players, scientific training, and promotion of opportunities for international competition. Thus, Ram Ratan Singh’s achievement is not only a symbol of personal glory but also of India.
