Prime Minister congratulated Simran on winning a gold medal at the Asian Para Games.

In the opening phase of the Asian Para Games, Indian athlete Simran made history by winning the gold medal in her category, significantly boosting India’s overall medal tally. Following this achievement, the Prime Minister issued an official message to personally congratulate Simran, stating, “Your victory is not only a symbol of your personal struggle but also an inspiration for all disabled athletes in the country.” The Prime Minister also noted that the government is taking new initiatives to provide greater support for disabled sports, including expanding training facilities, offering financial incentives, and strengthening participation in international competitions.

Simran’s gold win has reaffirmed India’s best performance to date at the Asian Para Games. In the previous edition, India had won a total of 12 gold medals, while Simran’s victory has raised the count to 15. Experts believe the main reason for this success is the growing awareness of disabled sports at the national level and improved infrastructure. The Ministry of Sports has already begun the process of nominating Simran for the National Sports Award in recognition of this victory.

With the Prime Minister’s congratulations and the government’s new policies, a wave of hope is sweeping across Indian disabled athletes. Such recognitions not only motivate individual players but also reinforce the principles of inclusivity and equal opportunity in society. Looking ahead, the government has announced plans to double the number of training centers and expand international coaching collaborations to increase participation of Indian para athletes at the Asian and Olympic levels, ensuring that successes like Simran’s continue.
