Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Himanshu Nandl on winning a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to Himanshu Nandal, who enhanced India’s prestige by winning a bronze medal in the men’s 10 metre air rifle category at the Asian Para Games. The Prime Minister described the achievement on his official platform as “a symbol of the unwavering determination and commitment of the country’s differently‑abled athletes” and said that such successes serve as an inspiration for strengthening inclusivity in the national sports policy. He also noted that Nandal’s accomplishment is not only a personal triumph but a significant milestone for the entire Indian para‑sports community, encouraging more young differently‑abled athletes to compete on the international stage in the future.

India has demonstrated its progress at the Asian Para Games by winning numerous medals in previous editions, but limited success had been seen in shooting until now. Nandal’s bronze medal highlighted India’s capabilities in this sport and offered the Indian Shooting Federation an opportunity to invest in new strategies and infrastructure. Following the victory, the Ministry of Sports promptly outlined a plan to enhance support for the training, equipment, and international competition of differently‑abled athletes.

The Prime Minister’s congratulatory message has inspired not only Nandal but all Indian para‑athletes, raising expectations of increased respect and support for differently‑abled sports at the national level. Thus, Himanshu Nandal’s bronze medal is viewed not merely as a personal achievement but as a significant step forward in India’s inclusive sports policy and social awareness.
