On the national platform, the Prime Minister quoted an ancient Sanskrit maxim, stating that restrained language, a pure mind, rigorous austerity, self‑sacrifice and integrity are essential for national resurgence.

During a public event held at the National Assembly, the Prime Minister quoted an ancient Sanskrit aphorism that states, “Vani sanyami, man shuddh, tap dridh, aatma‑tyagi, satyanishtha atal.” He explained the meaning of this aphorism in simple Hindi words, emphasizing that adherence to these five moral principles is essential for personal and social progress. He also highlighted that India’s cultural heritage consistently mentions such moral values, which provide ethical guidance in today’s fast‑paced and technologically advanced era. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the nation’s progress is determined not only by economic statistics but by the robustness of citizens’ inner qualities.

History has also seen many instances where saints, poets, and politicians have emphasized similar principles; Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, and other national heroes also built their social work on restraint, integrity, and self‑sacrifice. In this context, experts believe that the aphorism quoted by the Prime Minister not only conveys a message of cultural revival but also presents a conceptual framework for addressing current social challenges—such as corruption, social inequality, and moral decay.

Prominent thinkers and representatives of civil society welcomed this initiative, stating that the government must prioritize moral education. Many educational institutions have proposed organizing workshops and dialogue sessions based on this, to effectively disseminate these values among the youth. Thus, the Prime Minister’s cultural initiative is being regarded as a positive step toward national unity and moral revival.
