Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly built RBI data centre and cyber security training institute in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today marked a new milestone in digital financial services by inaugurating its first data centre and a dedicated cyber‑security training institute in the capital city of Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the event, explained that the initiative aims to strengthen India’s digital infrastructure and raise awareness about cyber‑security. The data centre has been built to meet high‑performance server standards, advanced energy management, and environmental sustainability criteria, providing a reliable and secure platform for banking, payments, and other financial services.

The training institute intends to train more than 5,000 cyber‑security professionals between 2027 and 2030, thereby contributing to the enhancement of India’s cyber‑security capabilities. Its curriculum covers cyber‑forensics, network security, data protection, and ethical hacking, aligned with industry demand. Prime Minister Modi described the initiative as “a crucial step toward a secure digital future” and stated that RBI is committed to playing a leading role in this area.

This inauguration will energise digital inclusion efforts in Odisha and across the country, and will also enable state entrepreneurs and small businesses to access secure and efficient financial services. RBI’s move is viewed as a significant advance toward realizing India’s “Digital India” and “Cyber‑Secure India” objectives.
