Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan praised the RSS’s 100 years of social work, linking it with India’s ancient tradition of service and lauding its contribution to nation‑building.
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan said at a recently held national gathering that the tradition of service has been vibrant in Indian society for centuries and that this tradition has been reinforced today by RSS through its century‑long activities. He noted that the organization, established in 1925, has launched countless initiatives in education, health, disaster relief and rural development, benefiting lakh of citizens. Radhakrishnan added that RSS has organized volunteers at the local level to promote cleanliness campaigns, child‑education programs and indigenous enterprises, thereby strengthening social bonds and accelerating economic empowerment.
RSS’s service‑oriented initiatives are deeply linked to India’s ancient sense of “service”—rooted in Vedic texts, Mahatma Gandhi and the principles of Swaraj—this Vice President highlighted. He also said that the role of the organization in promoting national unity and social harmony cannot be overlooked. Although RSS has at times faced political controversies and ideological debates, Radhakrishnan emphasized the need to see the reality of social work, which encourages cooperation and tolerance among various classes.
The ceremony was attended by many social workers, educational institutions and government representatives, who shared success stories of RSS’s various projects. The Vice President thanked all volunteers for their continued dedication on this occasion and called for further advancement of this traditional path of service. His statement was seen as an important message toward strengthening the service culture in Indian society.
