Indian athlete Vithya Ramraj elevates the nation's stature by clinching bronze in the women's 400 metres hurdles at this year's Asian Games in Asia.

Despite fierce competition and climatic challenges, Vithya secured a spot on the medal podium with a time of 55.84 seconds. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the history of Indian athletics, as Indian women had not won a medal in this event at previous Asian Games.

The Prime Minister congratulated Vithya Ramraj, stating that her performance exemplifies national sporting spirit and serves as an inspiration for young athletes. He also signaled to the Sports Ministry the need to provide greater support and modern facilities for Indian athletics on the international stage.

The Prime Minister added that the government will allocate additional resources to strengthen athletics infrastructure, promote coaching and scientific training, so that more medals can be won at major platforms such as the Olympics and World Championships in the future.

After winning her medal, Vithya Ramraj said that this success would not have been possible without the support of her coach, family, and national sports institutions. She further stated that she will continue to work hard for the upcoming World Athletics Championships and the Olympics. This victory has further encouraged women's participation in Indian athletics, and experts believe that the emergence of talents like Vithya can make the country's athletics team competitive on the world stage.
