After winning the gold medal in the men’s 65 kg freestyle wrestling event at the Asian Games, the Prime Minister personally congratulated national wrestler Sujit. This victory is a significant achievement for India, as the country has consistently won medals in this category at previous Asian Games. The Prime Minister praised Sujit’s hard work, discipline, and dedication to sport, and said that this success serves as an inspiration for young athletes.

With the support of his coaching team and the sports science department, his preparation was enhanced, allowing him to balance both strength and technique. This win brings even greater international recognition to Indian wrestling and validates investment under the government’s sports development programmes.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also noted that India must focus on structural reforms and the development of young talent to consistently improve performance at the Asian Games. He encouraged young athletes to continue working hard and dedicating themselves to realise their dreams. With this congratulation, the government announced new plans to increase training facilities and financial assistance in wrestling and other sports, so that future generations can achieve even higher heights.
