Suvikalp, a leader in mining reuse, has released the latest equipment series that transforms closed and abandoned mines into environmentally safe and economically profitable assets. This initiative is in line with India's Sustainable Development Goals.

Suvikalp, which specializes in mine repurposing and environmental remediation, today unveiled its latest equipment range aimed at converting closed and abandoned mines into productive land. A company spokesperson said the technology provides an integrated solution for landform reclamation, water purification, and vegetation restoration, allowing mined areas to be prepared for agriculture, watersheds, or urban development. Suvikalp's equipment includes automated geo-profiling robots, bio-based soil improvers, and solar-powered water purification stations that minimize environmental impact with 24‑hour operation.

Under the “Mining Repurposing Policy” of the Government of India to be released in 2024, tax concessions and financial assistance have been provided to encourage redevelopment of closed mines. This move by Suvikalp will not only repair the environmental damage but will also create new employment and income opportunities for the local communities. Experts believe that widespread use of such equipment will play an important role in mitigating the impact of climate change in the mining sector and accelerating land re-use. This initiative of Suvikalp sets a new benchmark for the mining industry, where it is possible to balance both economic benefits and environmental responsibility.
