Central Home and Co‑operative Minister Amit Shah, on the occasion of Uttarakhand’s state festival, emphasized the need for central‑state cooperation to strengthen the state’s progress, environmental protection, and the cooperative movement during the ceremony held in Dehradun.

Central Home and Co‑operative Minister Shri Amit Shah addressed the Uttarakhand State Festival ceremony, praising the state’s cultural heritage, natural resources and social progress, and spoke of giving new direction to the centre‑state partnership. He said that Uttarakhand’s hilly geography and water resources are extremely important for the country’s security and energy, so the central government has given special attention to disaster management, water conservation and infrastructure development. In particular, he mentioned the commitment to accelerate the high‑end resilient centres established under the National Disaster Management Plan, climate‑resilient infrastructure and special transport networks for hilly areas.

In the cooperative sector, the minister also presented new initiatives. He explained that the centre has implemented special cooperative models in Uttarakhand to strengthen agriculture, climate‑smart farming and rural entrepreneurship, enabling local farmers and small entrepreneurs to receive better financial assistance and technical support. Moreover, he emphasized a plan to develop home stays, guide services and environmentally safe facilities in a cooperative format to make tourism sustainable and benefit local communities.

Finally, Amit Shah called upon the state’s youth to be inspired towards social responsibility and national service, and said that cooperation between the centre and the state is the fundamental basis for sustainable development in Uttarakhand’s progress. He thanked all the present citizens, government officials and social organisations, and expressed hope for more effective collaboration in the future.
