India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal Holds High‑Level Meetings with Dutch Counterparts During Industrial Visit to the Netherlands

During his industrial tour in the Netherlands, India's Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held several high‑level meetings with senior officials of the Dutch Ministry of Trade, Industry and Innovation. The primary objective of these meetings was to explore new opportunities in bilateral trade and investment and to strengthen the existing commercial framework between the two countries. Throughout the discussions, both parties examined joint ventures in emerging sectors such as agri‑technology, green energy, digital health, and fintech, and drafted preliminary frameworks for several potential investment projects.

The ministers also agreed that the Netherlands could serve as a strategic base for Indian companies to enter the European market, while Dutch firms could leverage India's vast consumer market and the availability of raw materials. A new bilateral investment agreement was drafted during this visit, which will provide clear guidance to investors from both sides on tax, regulatory, and intellectual property matters. Additionally, the two countries agreed to form a joint working group to reduce trade barriers and streamline commercial processes.

As a result of this visit, an increase of approximately 15% in India‑Netherlands trade and investment is expected. Both sides stated that this collaboration will play a crucial role in expanding India's global trade network and in helping Dutch companies establish a sustainable presence in the Indian market. Thus, the commercial relationship between India and the Netherlands will receive new energy and direction, benefiting the economic interests of both countries.
