The central government has achieved 100% of many key health targets implemented under Special Campaign 6, leading to unprecedented improvement in access to health services in rural and remote areas.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that all major health targets set under Special Campaign 6 will be achieved one hundred percent. This campaign is the sixth phase of the five phases being implemented under the National Health Mission (NHM) for the period 2022‑2026, aimed at ensuring universal access to maternal‑child health, disease resistance, and basic health services. In previous years, this mission successfully implemented several initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the National Nutrition Mission, and the Rural Health Mission, and Special Campaign 6 aims to integrate these efforts to deliver results on a broad scale.

According to the ministry spokesperson, the one hundred percent target included providing at least four health check‑ups to one hundred % of pregnant women under antenatal care, reducing the neonatal mortality rate by up to thirty %, and ensuring full immunisation for all children. Digital health records at health centres, mobile health units, and active participation of community health workers were considered key factors for this achievement. In addition, the expansion of tele‑medicine services in remote areas and the provision of free treatment in hospitals under Ayushman Bharat made a significant contribution to meeting the target.

In view of the success of Special Campaign 6, the ministry has expressed intent to replicate this model in future health programmes. This step is expected not only to improve national health indicators but also to help realise the health‑related sub‑goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Work will continue on plans to allocate additional budget, launch training programmes, and promote public‑private partnerships to further strengthen the quality and reach of health services in the future.
