** CSIR‑NSP provided a platform for experts from scientific and social sectors, where the preservation, documentation, and integration of traditional knowledge with modern science were discussed.

CSIR‑National Science Communication and Policy Research Institute (CSIR‑NSP) successfully organized the third edition of Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge (CDTK) this year. The conference brought together participants from science communication, policy‑making, social sciences and representatives of local communities, establishing a broad dialogue toward effectively integrating traditional knowledge into scientific research and public policy. Through various sessions, discussions were held on ancient techniques related to Ayurvedic medicines, biodiversity, agricultural practices and cultural heritage, as well as deliberations on measures to preserve this knowledge in digital platforms and open‑access databases.

The main points of the program included safeguarding the rights of traditional knowledge, addressing intellectual‑property issues, and strengthening appropriate benefit‑sharing models for the benefit of local communities. Experts explained that modern science‑communication tools—such as multimedia content, mobile applications and interactive web portals—can be used to reach traditional knowledge to wide audiences, thereby not only reinforcing cultural identity but also contributing to sustainable development goals.

Finally, CSIR‑NSP announced plans to continue this platform and to promote international collaboration in the next edition. This initiative will not only reinforce the preservation of traditional knowledge in India but also play a crucial role in encouraging diversity and innovation in scientific policy‑making at the global level.
