Drug Registry Institute (DRI) seized 7 kilograms of amphetamine, 5 kilograms of cocaine, and 3.5 kilograms of heroin in three recent operations, and arrested five suspects, sending a strong message of stringent action against drug trafficking in the country.

Drug Registry Institute (DRI) has intensified the extensive campaign being conducted to curb drug trafficking. In three separate operations carried out within this month, a total of more than 13 kilograms of pure narcotics were seized, including 7 kilograms of amphetamine, 5 kilograms of cocaine and 3.5 kilograms of heroin. These substances were planned to be distributed from major border areas to various cities across India, for which DRI coordinated with local police, border security forces and international partner agencies.

During the massive investigation operation, five individuals were arrested, who have now been charged with drug trafficking, distribution and organized crime. Among the arrestees, two persons are considered the principal intermediaries of the trafficking network, while the remaining three were found involved in the supply and distribution of the goods. According to the investigation, this trafficking network was engaged in bringing raw substances from several Southeast Asian countries into India and then distributing them nationwide.

DRI described this success as a significant milestone in the national struggle against narcotics. Officials state that vigilance must be maintained in the face of new smuggling routes and techniques, and therefore border control, electronic surveillance and inter‑agency cooperation will continue to be enhanced in the future.
