The Fertilizer Department has issued a plan under “Special Campaign 6” to emphasize hygiene, waste segregation, and the safe disposal of electronic waste in field offices, thereby enhancing the transparency of agricultural services and environmental responsibility.

The Fertilizer Department today presented a detailed outline of “Special Campaign 6” at its headquarters, proposing several concrete steps to strengthen hygiene and e‑waste management across field offices nationwide. This campaign is the sixth phase following the department’s previous five campaigns, aiming to bring together efficiency, transparency, and environmental sustainability in the delivery of agricultural services.

Key points of the campaign include regular cleaning of office premises, provision of separate bins for waste segregation, and contracts with certified recycling partners for the recycling or secure disposal of unused electronic equipment (such as computers, printers, mobiles).

The department head noted that in recent years uncontrolled disposal of e‑waste from field offices had increased environmental risks, threatening local water sources and raising data security concerns. In this context, “Special Campaign 6” directs each office to maintain a digital inventory to track e‑waste volumes and to ensure compliance through annual audits. Additionally, to promote hygiene, employees will receive regular training, awareness workshops, and a hygiene checklist, improving workplace health standards.

The Fertilizer Department stated that this initiative will not only improve the workflow of the Agriculture Department but also spread environmental awareness in rural areas. The department also announced the establishment of an independent monitoring committee to periodically submit progress reports and revise strategies as needed. Thus, “Special Campaign 6” is considered a significant step toward realizing the Fertilizer Department’s sustainable development goals.
