Both institutions, by deepening their existing collaboration, aim to make digital KYC solutions available in every corner of India, thereby providing investors with fast, secure, and accessible identity verification.

India Post and UTI Mutual Fund Sign New MoU to Expand Existing Collaboration

India Post and UTI Mutual Fund have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to extend their existing collaboration. Under this agreement, UTI Mutual Fund’s digital platform will be integrated with more than 1.5 lakh branches of India Post and the Post Office kiosk network, ensuring comprehensive pan‑India KYC (Know Your Customer) verification services coverage. This step is taken to promote financial inclusion while providing investors a faster and secure identification process, making mutual fund investment easier even in remote areas.

To simplify the KYC process, both parties agreed to integrate biometric, AOTP (One‑Time Pin) and AI‑based document verification technologies. This initiative will allow customers to obtain real‑time identity verification by presenting documents at their nearest post office, reducing paperwork and long waiting times. In light of regulatory bodies encouraging digital KYC, this collaboration aligns with RBI and SEBI guidelines and will strictly enforce data security and privacy standards.

Analysts believe that this partnership will not only increase UTI Mutual Fund’s customer base but also broaden India Post’s digital financial services reach. Such collaborations are viewed as a model to overcome limited financial service availability in rural and semi‑urban areas, enabling other banks and insurance institutions to use similar networks in the future. Through this initiative, investors are expected to receive a more transparent, cost‑effective, and reliable KYC experience.
