India Textile Trade Federation (ITTF) and France’s leading fashion network Premier Vision SA signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the apparel and fashion industry, creating new opportunities for export-import, technical exchange and sustainable development.

New Delhi – The India Textile Trade Federation (ITTF) and France’s leading fashion aggregator Premier Vision SA have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the textile and fashion sectors of the two countries. The agreement sets out several initiatives to expand commercial ties, exchange technical and design innovations, and promote sustainable production processes. Both parties said the MoU will elevate India‑France bilateral economic relations to new heights, particularly in high‑end apparel, textile engineering, and digital fashion platforms.

Key points of the MoU include joint trade missions, annual fashion shows and boutique expos, collaborative design and technical workshops, and support for research and development (R&D) projects on sustainable fabric production. The parties also stated they will provide financial and technical assistance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), giving Indian textile manufacturers a competitive advantage in the European market. Under this initiative, a fraternity program will be launched between French designers and Indian textile experts, enabling coordination of the creative capabilities of both nations.

Currently, the annual value of India‑France textile trade is several billion dollars, with France primarily importing high‑quality fabrics and formal wear, while India exports cotton, jute, and technical textiles. This agreement will diversify the export‑import structure of both countries and aid in achieving the goal of sustainable fashion. Industry experts believe that this collaboration will not only bring economic benefits but also deepen cultural and creative dialogue between the two nations.
