Maa Bharat-NSS launched the second month of the Drug-Free Youth Campaign across the country along with the “Yoga and Self-Defense Day,” aiming to promote health, safety, and a drug‑free lifestyle among youth.

Maa Bharat‑NSS organized a national “Yoga and Self‑Defense Day,” with millions of young people from schools, colleges and community centres in urban and rural areas participating. The program featured various yoga sessions, pranayama, meditation and self‑defense technique training workshops. Expert trainers said that regular yoga and self‑defense training not only promotes physical health but also reduces stress and provides mental stability, thereby supporting the overall development of youth. The goal of Maa Bharat‑NSS behind this initiative is to inspire young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about personal safety.

In the same vein, NSS launched the second month of the “Drug‑Free Youth Campaign.” Following the successful implementation last month, this phase includes awareness posters, educational sessions and interactive quizzes to spread awareness about drug‑free living. The campaign places special emphasis on the adverse effects of drugs, preventive measures and rehabilitation options. With the support of several state governments and non‑governmental organisations, the initiative has received broad backing, leading to an expected notable increase in the number of drug‑free youths. Maa Bharat‑NSS said that only through coordinated efforts in yoga, self‑defense and drug‑free living can the youth be empowered, thereby laying the foundation for a healthy and safe nation.
